Al Maerz, a
native of Rochester, and
Physical Education teacher at
Dake Middle school, was the Head
Coach of Irondequoit High School
from the 1973-74 season to the
1994-95 season.
While at Irondequoit, Al posted
at 303-146-20 record, and
coached his teams to 7
Divisional Championships, 5
Sectional Championships, coached
18 winning seasons, including 14
consecutive winning seasons, and
was voted MCHSHL Division 1
Coach of the Year, 4-times.

the New York State
High School Hockey-
Hall of Fame, March
1998, for his
dedication to the
sport as a truly
great coach who has
contributed
noteworthy service
to New York State
high school hockey. |
